    Delays

I've just got the new Delays album, out on Monday, and it's fantastic!  Tracks range from the stomper of an opening Girl's On Fire to the delicate Pieces and back through the awesome Friends Are False - which their boardies say is the best Delays song ever!  Their myspace and website are somewhat lacking on the preview front, but you can listen to the whole thing on the NME media player, assuming you can get it to work.  I couldn't.

How can you resist buying it when it's only £6.98 from both Amazon and HMV? Big Smile

I should probably point out that I do genuinely love the album!  I really hope they get some success soon, because they've been producing great songs for years.

I love their new single Hooray it's my profile song. The video is right up my street, if I were to direct a video I think it would be something like this simple and silly but effective. Haven't heard the rest of the album but I think I'd like to and I think it's high time they got the sucess they deserve.Big Smile

    Aha!

I hadn't given up, I was just waiting for a link so you could actually hear what I'm on about.  And it's here!  (<< here as in there) Big Smile

Listen to Friends Are False at least twice and check out Hooray, Pieces and Touchdown if you have the time.  Then buy the album! Big Smile

    Re: Delays

Every forum I'm on has people raving about this band. I really don't understand their lack of commercial success. They're not radio unfriendly are they? I don't get it....it's another good band flying totally under the radar. Sad

The Delays sounded familiar and now I know why, they supported Embrace when I saw them in 2006, I'm assuming it's the same Delays. Both supports that night were really good and i thought we'd be hearing lots more of them in the future. Hmmmm, that was 18 months ago and i've not heard as much of them as I would have expected.

Their first album was released in 2004 but I've only just found out about them, which is why I'm trying to spread the word.  They seem incredibly bad at getting noticed Sad

    Re: Delays

That's the album I've got I think....faded seaside glamour. When I first heard Ghosts I thought they were Delays. Their lead singer, and Simon Ghosts voices have some of the same qualities....it seems they're as bad at getting noticed as each other!!

I haven't really got much to say, but if I keep replying this thread will keep plopping into the Not Read piles Big Smile  Aren't I devious! Stick out tongue

Ghosts weren't too bad at getting noticed, but the best part of a year without any contact is a bit poor.  (I've read their forum, so I know they're on a Swedish island, but even so!  Was that the Midge I saw reply to something over there? Smile)
