    Exams

Anybody else going through exams at the moment?

Was just wondering if it was just me or not.  What do you think of them so far then?  I don't think they're too bad so far but I get the feeling the worst is yet to come (science exams oo-er).

Any ideas for surviving from those who've done them before?  Not too stressed out at the moment luckily =)

    Ditto! Big Smile

Only 16 hours 'til I'm finished and I got my mock essay back today and I got an A.Big Smile  *does little dance*

Becky(ooh it feels like I'm talking to myself) are you talking about getting through GCSEs? They're really nothing to worry about...wait 'til AS and A2 it's a massive jump from years 11 to 12. I had 2 gigs the week before with minimal revision and I got....exactly what I wanted! You'll be fine.Yes

    Exams!Sad

Even though i'm only in Year10, at our school everythings like changed, so we're like doing loads early which completely sucks.

Like Statistics, 2 and a half hour exam! Are they trying to kill us??

Actually I found GCSEs are slightly harder altogether because: (bear with me...) Smile  At GCSE there is a load of learning for stuff like geography and RE (especially subjects you don't like) but when you get to college there's less subjects, less homework and less learning (in my experience).  You do have to learn as you go much more though.

And noone should be made to do Stats GCSE, I've done it at college and you really don't need to have put yourself through it.  Oh, I'm not helping am I?  Hope it goes well! Smile

    Cheers.

Our teachers are a bunch of weird people, and thought we would get distracted from our Maths exams next year, so made us do the Stats this year. Which is stupid seeing as we only have 1 maths exam next year, had/have the rest this year ('cause, again the goverment have changed everything!). But plus side, where everythings changing, not as much coursework!Big Smile

See THIS is why I should have gone to college! Stupid 6th form make you do General Studies etc. Oh and even in AS there's a lot more work to do in Geography trust me...unless of course you wish to explain to me the formation of a soil catena case study? Hmm thought not. For your chosen subjects you must remember the stuff you learnt at GCSE, learn it again in more detail and then add in pointless coursework and several thousand case studies.Sleep

Yes less subjects but more work on the whole because now you don't have other subjects clogging up your life that hole must obviously be filled with extra pointless coursework. Also with GCSEs you have 3 years to learn a course whereas with AS and A2 you only have one year each to learn the whole course...especially if you've had an off year. Scary.Indifferent

    Re: Exams

No exams for me at the moment (that one comes next May-ish after another year of assignments - joy!) but I have got 2 assignments to finish and 5 observations to write up (3 of which I haven't even done yet, oops...) and approximately 3 weeks in which to do it all. Bah. Oh well, atleast when it's all done I'll be free of work til September yeehaaa!

    Well I know what you're after....its a rock n roll disaster!

Yes Becky (That really is weird, like I'm talking to myself =S), I'm talking about GCSEs.  I think they're easier than AS and A2 are gonna be, I picked really hard subjects for them =S

Chemistry is going to be especially confusing because, according to my teacher, nearly everything we've been taught is actually completely different and we got the basic version.  Should be ok though, chemistry's not too bad =)

I think I've got between 8 and 10 exams left (not got my timetable on me to check), my last one is on the 18th June I think.  2 and a half hours Statistics I think.  And I've got Statistics AS this Friday >.<

Prom to look forward to at the end though =D  Glad everybody's doing fine with them and good luck if anyone's got any tomorrow!

I've got spanish reading and biology tomorrow, anybody else?

Yeah, Chemistry changes quite a lot and there's a lot of learning of individual reactions and the catalysts and stuff Sad

Becky (as in *becks*), I think I was fairly lucky with subjects, but some (like Chemistry a bit) have more learning than others.  Geography does sound pretty bad, especially if it's just like more GCSE.

It feels weird starting ASes in September and then taking exams in January and then May, you've hardly learnt anything but you're already revising within about three months Tongue Tied

Which is why I didn't do very well in the first test...it was all because of the pressure, not 'cause I didn't revise or anything.Confused

FINISHED ALL OF MY EXAMS NOW! No more school until the 9th June. Woop.Big Smile

    Re: Exams

In Germany, we've got four seasons of exams per year so I'm used to revising all the time. The good part is that it doesn't matter if you fail one of them.

But now it's over till (I guess) September! Just 3 more weeks at school, two weeks at work experience and then it's the holidays! (I do feel like they're already here though Smile)

    Re: Exams

had a biology GCSE earlier,(which I only found out about last week) my next one is Chemistry (NOOOO!!) on 5th June (Twelve Stops And Home's Bday!!) and although i've got all this revision, my other teachers are finding no problem in setting more than enough homework for me!
"all you need to do is say I love you..." It's just not that simple!...
