Could a mod/the admin of this forum tell me why I can't insert a URL avatar??? It's really bugging me..I'd like an avatar!!!

I'm not a mod, and I'm most certainly not the most IT literate, but I think using a URL avatar would put a lot of strain on the server (which would mean the forum would slow down and 'lag' if everyone had one) and a whole copyright debacle about the problems of possibly using other people's pictures without permission. You can make your own avatar (mine is one of my pictures uploaded from my hard drive); all you have to do is find a picture, size it down to the accepted size - 100 x 100 pixels, or 15kb, save it onto your hard drive and upload it in the avatar part of your account.

It doesn't even have to be the right size, you can just upload any picture.  I've never tried anything else, but it's not because you're new.

What she said!!  I don't know the exact reason, it seems to be a Universal thing (as in the record company, rather than an all-encompassing thing), so just use an image you've saved on your hard drive. It can be a little larger than 100x100, the server will resize it..
