    Daily Mirror Chiswick House Review

     http://www.mirror.co.uk/showbiz/latest/2008/07/11/stars-come-out-for-exclusive-chiswick-house-festival-89520-20639674/

Kylie Minogue, GMTV's Penny Smith, Top Gear's James May and Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen were among the celebrities at the UK's most exclusive festival last night – as well as Mirror.co.uk of course.

Headlined by The Feeling, the bill also included a surprise set from The Hoosiers, Tom Baxter, Sophie Ellis Bextor and a comeback gig from Will Young, who revealed a surprising new jazz direction.

But the general public were not allowed to the bijou bash in the picturesque grounds of Chiswick House in West London – it was the second annual festival thrown by private, members-only club Soho House.

Also strolling about the manicured lawns of the stately home while tucking into complimentary lobster, oysters and champagne and enjoying the music were Anneka Rice, Matthew Wright, ex-Heat editor Mark Frith, Sarah Cawood, Richard Bacon, Radio One's Jo Whiley, Angus Deayton and Jamie Theakston.

The Kooks played an exclusive acoustic set at the beginning of the warm and sunny evening at House Festival to the delight of early arrivals, who'd clearly managed to get the whole of Thursday off work.

But it was the Sugababes who stole the show, with the immaculately-dressed girls putting on a hugely energetic set while getting the entire crowd whooping and clapping along.

However, a performance from Goldfrapp earlier in the evening didn't go so well.

Their new folkier material saw the audience chatting loudly throughout their set – leaving frontwoman Alison looking decidedly grumpy. //'); //]]>

Wow! Sugababes must have really done something special to have stolen the show!

We were impressed by them in Edinburgh, they came over much better live than on tv and you don't realise just how many good hits they've had.

The Sugababes were really good but obviously The Feeling were the best! It was the most amazing day, we got to chat to the boys loads and the food and drink was out of this world. If they do it again next year, everyone shouldn't think twice about going!

Sugababes impressed me at the Mandela concert the other week - only did 2 songs, mind!  Big Smile

Starting to wish I'd bitten the money bullet and gone for this, sounds a really special gig (just like all the rest!)

I do quite like the Sugababes and they're playing T4 next weekend so I'll give my opinion when I've seen them!

    Well I know what you're after....its a rock n roll disaster!

£150.00???  I think that's a real bargain to be at something like that.  I'd have paid it for sure - I shall watch out for it next year ;-)

which is especially bargainous if you like lobster and champagne! I don't like either so it's really not worth it for me!

Kind of echoes my thoughts.  Lobster - yuck! (as a veggie).  No problemo with the bubbly, though, apart from driving home afterwards...

But not bad value for that kind of do, though, and normally things like that are kept well private so that the hoi palloi don't even get to hear that they're happening!
