    Fiat 500 report

My girlfriend and I very luckily got tickets to this -- we have an apartment in County Hall (just behind the London Eye), and tickets were made available for residents, and we managed to blag a couple!! It was a short but impressive gig. They came on at 7.30pm and played 4 songs, "Thought it was over", "People in Love", "Join with us" and "I love it when you call". A tight, professional set. The atmosphere wasn't great, as it was a corporate gig, so there weren't that many fans there, but a few were dotted about and the band managed to get the crowd going as much as they could. They didn't let the vague air of apathy harm the performance, and belted the numbers out righteously. The two oldies went down best, naturally enough, but "Thought it was over" built impressively to a nice, rocky finale, and "Join with us" is quirky and fun. Mika did a 20 minutes set afterwards, and while he's a gifted performer, he didn't have the same sort of energy as The Feeling. Can't wait for the tour to start properly -- we're seeing them in Birmingham and after this short, snappy appetiser we're drooling at the thought of a full set, seen with a few thousand appreciative fans of the same mindset!!!!

Thanks for this Eldarro. This event slipped completely under our radar so we couldn't even get a spy in there to report back, so thank you for this. Interesting mix of new and old ("People in Love" is actually called "Never Be Lonely") songs to display to the media peeps, would have thought they'd been a bit new-song heavy but this surprises me. Hope you showed that snooty media lot with a good bit of old-fashioned dancing, singing and a-whooping! Big Smile

Thanks indeed Eldarro!  Much appreciated.  I'm sure the boys are well used to "ambivalent" audiences after their time in the Alps.  Glad to hear that you enjoyed y'selves. Smile

Sounds like they took the crowd in hand in the same way they did at the Concert for Diana last summer.

    What stars they are!

How bizarre that they played before Mika rather than after!!
