    Porchester Hall - the aftermath

Woo-hoo, looks like I'm the first one home to write about tonight!

    What a special, intimate night.

A bit late starting, and some horror stories about not everyone getting in, but more than worth the wait.  A wonderful venue, perfect sound, and obviously a cracking band to boot....

Can't remember enough about the setlist, but opened with ITIWO, a cracking mix of old & new in the middle, and an encore of Video Killed the Radio Star, which Dan said could be the last time they'd play it.

Loved all the new stuff, and great to have had it on MySpace so we could all sing along - though only as far as about the first minute, at which point only our Mods appeared to know the entire lyrics of every song...

A few of my mediocre pics can be found at www.flickr.com/alecsp

Personally, thanks to some great new friends met for the first time, who made it possible for me to be there - think you know who you are.  Thanks for looking out for Jack (son, 12) and letting him have a front row place.  Never quite felt as "at home" at a gig before.

I'm home now too Alec Smile.  Thanks for the report and the photos - off to look at them now.

Indeed - a good night had by all.  I noticed that Jack has one of Rich's plectrums (or should that be plectra?).  Laurie ended up with a little souvenir to take back to Germany too in the shape of one of Paul's drumsticks.

Having sat on the tube trying to remember the set list, I get home to discover that the DivineMrM managed to find a whole heap of them lying around on his way out so here it is:

    Intro
    Thought It was over
    Fill my little world
    Won't go away
    Never be lonely
    Spare Me
    Without you
    Turn it up

    Love it when you call
    Video killed the radio star

The band were all positively delightful as always and were very appreciative of all their fans.

Can't wait to see it on the telly - with any luck you might spot one or two of us...!

BTW - it was also lovely to see so many of the band's families in attendanceSmile

Thanks for the setlist. I'd never have remembered that order!

All the new stuff sounds just amazing! Looking forward to a fully fit band hitting the road in March!!  Wink

Thanks for the photos. I did what I was told and put mine into the cloakroom Tongue Tied

My highlights were.........the whole event Geeked

    Notable moments.

1 When Dan hit that note and held iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.Yes Made me feel quite breathless. I had to take a deep breath on his behalf.

2 The kickey leg song. Thanks to the set list, I now know it's called Don't Make Me.  WOW! Yes

So pleased Laurie got the drumstick, although I didn't see her or Yvonne leave and didn't get to say goodbye Sad.

Bloody marvellous, it was!  I think last night was an all time record for the length of time Dan held that note at the end of NBL.. The new material does sound fantastic live - once the boys are used to the rigours of touring, they'll sound even better.

Alec - was good to meet you, and your son seemed to have the time of his life! Did he manage to get a setlist in the end, or did the old'uns nick them all?

Need to get to work.. More as I remember it!!

My ears are still ringing too.. Indifferent

I'm very jealous about the pics - I went and got myself a new camera for the event - and then was told you couldn't use it Sad

Managed to get Ciaran's setlist at the end Woop! so that made up for it!

The boys sounded great and all I know is I've gotta get in shape to jump around like mad when the tour comes along! I was waaay too knackered after Love It When You Call Big Smile

What a fab night. My ears are still ringing. Highlights too many to remember but deff Dan's note at the end of NBL is right up there. He is sooooo garjusWink Lovely to see so many familiar faces and thank you all for making my Danny welcome. Now Please God my hope is that my channel 4 interview will end up on the cutting room floor. Oh the shame if it is aired! Embarrassed My excuse is that I was high as a kite at the time.

Glad everyone got home safely. Hope Laurie and her friend made it back to Germany. Is my tech boss anywhere? I need instructions again on how to upload pics.EmbarrassedI've lost my bit of paper.

    Hi All

I was one of the unfortunate ones who was turned away as they had invited too many people.  I am glad you all had a great time but very disapointed that they asked too many people to go after taking time off work and spending lots of money and time to get there.  Maybe next time the organisers will be a bit more considerate.

Alec I'm glad Jack got a plectrum. Don't know who I was giving stuff away to.I had about 4 plecs, a bracelet and God knows what else. I'm glad the little Matthew Horne lookey likey got one 2. Well I had to give him one, I'd embarassed the poor lad all night. I don't think I met Tsaress. Got to meet Laurie. Anybody else I missed?

Still buzzing from it. Can't believe I nearly did'nt get in. That announcement gave me an attack of the vapours I can tell you. For a few seconds after my panic stricken call I thought Baldy had come out to rescue me. Should have known better! Wink Still Thank God for friends eh?
